A note about Sudz Natural Soaps from Kim Wogberg

I have been an allergy sufferer for most of my life and cannot tolerate heavily perfumed soaps and skin products. My solution is to make my own and I LOVE IT!! In fact, I seem to be quite obsessed with the whole soap making process.

I use a recipe I developed myself through research, testing on friends and family and trial and error. For all my soap I use a combination of olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, and palm kernel oil along with distilled water and sodium hydroxide (that’s lye, but don’t worry, by the time I am done the lye has gone through a change and is now soap, no lye in the finished product, amazing process, really).

My sensitive skin bar has jojoba oil added as it has a chemical composition very close to the skin’s own sebum, leaves skin feeling silky, and promotes healing. It is especially good for eczema, psoriasis and acne. I also add ground oatmeal as it soothes irritated skin and helps to lock in moisture as it gently gently cleans. (not to mention my mother told me to!) I also add brown sugar to as it has anti bacterial properties and will exfoliate your skin and give it a healthy glow.

That’s it! I add no fragrance, colour or essential oils to the sensitive skin bar. My mom has been the tester for this one and she loves it and says she will never go back to commercial bars again.
