Here is a note from Laura Anne from her website
I was born in the Bahamas and raised in Canada.I always knew when I was young that I would be an artist. Mom is an artist and a fine art instructor and had me drawing and painting as soon as I could hold a pencil.
I started my career by going door-to-door at retail businesses and selling myself as a seasonal artist, painting Christmas window paintings on window storefronts. I also started dabbling with airbrushing. To much FUN! That’s when I decided to become a professional graphic artist.
After graduating in 1993 with a diploma in Graphic Art from Vancouver Island University, I designed display ads for Yellow Pages for three years. I also spent several years doing similar work in the industry at sign shops and other alternative “directories”. Bored to tears I struck out on my own doing freelance graphic design and airbrushing, before deciding to specialize in illustration.
I have created artwork for clients around the globe; everything from t-shirt designs, art for software development companies, illustrative logos, airbrushed murals, tattoo designs, book covers, posters… plus more!
I have been trained using traditional as well as digital methods to create art, and utilize industry standard graphics software to deliver top notch quality images.
I am currently working on a children’s book. One of my favourite illustrators is Graeme Base.
I’m easy and friendly to work with. And I always look forward to working with you on your project. Here, the client always comes first!
